Am I Eligible?

First, you’ll want to make sure that you’re eligible for the GM Educator Discount. If you are a current employee of a public school, private school, university, or college, then you are eligible. If you’re eligible, you can also sponsor your spouse and dependent children and stepchildren (if they’re under 21 or are full-time students under 25).

After you’ve determined your eligibility, here are the steps you’ll need to take:

1. Start Shopping

The first step is to find your dream GM vehicle. You can shop online, where you can find our extra deals for educators. You can find a list of eligible vehicles here. Whether you’re looking for a new or used car, a sedan or an SUV, you’ll be able to find some teacher-exclusive deals. If you want to lease, you can also ask about lease deals that are only offered to teachers.

2. Get Your Authorization Number

Your authorization number will show your eligibility for the GM Educator Discount. You can obtain this through the GM Educator Discount page, by choosing “Get Authorization Number.” It will require you to enter some information and will then give you your number.

3. Bring Authorization Number (and Other Documents) to the Dealership

Now it’s time for us here at White Bear Lake Superstore to step in and help. Along with your authorization number, you’ll need to bring to us either a copy of your school ID/badge or a current pay stub (with all information redacted except the date, the school’s name, and your name). You’ll also need to bring a copy of your driver’s license (with the driver’s license number redacted). Once you’ve done this, we can help you find your dream car at a great deal.
