However, we highly recommend fully synthetic oil because it better suits your GMC engine. Fully synthetic oil is more expensive per oil change, but it will help your GMC vehicle’s engine to last longer.

Your GMC Acadia is an awesome SUV with all of the modern amenities you want. Our service technicians highly recommend fully synthetic SAE 5W-30 motor oil. This oil will keep your vehicle running smoothly, so long as you change your vehicle’s oil at the right interval.
For your GMC Terrain oil type, we recommend fully synthetic SAE 0W-20 oil. The 0 in the 0W-20 indicates the lowest temperature at which the oil can operate and maintain its viscosity. If you have the wrong type of oil that’s not rated for chilly MN winters, your vehicle might not start due to the oil not working at the right temperature.
Your GMC Sierra oil type depends on the type of engine you have. For a gasoline engine, we recommend SAE 5W-30 Dexos1 full synthetic oil. If you want protection for really low temperatures, consider 0W-30 oil. If you’ve got a Duramax turbodiesel engine, use SAE 0W-20 DexosD diesel engine oil. We suggest this special oil because diesel engines are configured differently than gasoline engines, and you’ll need more protection.
