At White Bear Lake Superstore, we’ve always believed the holidays are the perfect time of year to help those in needs. Volunteering is not only a great way to give back to your community, but it can also make you feel good about yourself. Fortunately, there are many volunteer opportunities in White Bear Lake, MN. Just see below!

White Bear Area Emergency Food Shelf

One of the best places we’d recommend you volunteer is at the White Bear Area Emergency Food Shelf. Helping to support over 1,000 families per month since 1977, this food shelf serves anyone who needs food in the White Bear Area School District. In addition to helping out at the Food Shelf itself, you can donate food and money or sponsor your own food drive.

The local AARP also has a host of volunteer opportunities. There’s a speakers team to conduct outreach to the community, an advocacy team that works to improve quality of life for elderly citizens, and a fraud fighter team to help raise awareness about fraud and phishing scams that target the elderly community. You can also visit local hospice centers through AARP.

Heartland Hospice Care

Much like AARP, the Heartland Hospice Care is always looking for volunteers during Thanksgiving and the holiday season. Volunteers at Heartland can take on support tasks, run errands for patients, or simply visit with those in the hospice, reading, talking, and so forth.

The holidays are a time for giving. Help make Thanksgiving and Christmas 2019 a time to remember for those less fortunate.
